Baking soda no poo

Ok so I decided to try the no poo hair solution. First of all I have been battling my hair for most of my life. It is straight has no body and usually decided to have a random curl that throws me off completely.  So while I was reading information I came across the no poo solution. This sounded like a great idea to save money and of course not put a lit of stripping agents into your hair and scalp. So i gave it a try which is 1 tbl baking soda and cup of water in a a spray bottle. I tried this for 6 weeks to give it a good try. at first my hair felt smoother and I didn’t need conditioner because it brushed through so easily. They warn you that for a week or so you will have oily hair because your natural oils are trying to get back into your hair. I worked through this in a bout 4 days and was so happy when it was over. Then suddenly I started having problems with static…..I mean standing on end nothing you can do about it static. This was so embarrassing, I would go out in public and all of a sudden my hair wont go down. Here is where i decide that my problem is that conditioner usually keeps this under control. So I start using leave in conditioner….ummm it kind of worked but the problem was here I was using the stuff I didn’t want on my hair to begin with just to keep it from standing on end and it was weighing down my already thin flat hair…really not good. So I failed….I went back to my shampoo and I haven’t looked back. Some things just aren’t worth it when you are trying to save money and we all know that right. Now that I have gone back to my shampoo I am in love with my usual hair that stays in place, has a little volume and does not stand on end. 🙂 If you did this and it worked more power to you.

As always enjoy 🙂

Homemade Foundation

The recipe:

arrow root powder also called arrowroot flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, cocoa powder.

For years i have tried all kinds of different kinds of foundation, liquid, matte, and dry foundation. While some worked for a while others did not. It seems like it will work and then all of a sudden I break out. So time to try an all natural route. I have been using it for two months and I have not broken out one time! Like always I got my recipe online on pinterest.

There isn’t really a set recipe seeing as how everyone has different skin colors so you will need to play with it. Because I am so light I used 1 tablespoon arrowroot flour, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, 1/8 tsp cinnamon. It works great not only have I not broken out, but as long as I put on my moisturizer my skin does not dry out half way through the day like regular store bought foundation and it smells wonderful. So here it is a nice natural way to wear makeup, not breakout, you control your color, it smells good, and there are no harmful chemicals that are being put on your skin through your makeup. Also if you enjoy liquid foundation over dry you can turn your dry foundation into liquid with olive oil, almond oil, jojoba oil….Im not sure how these work with as far as healthy skin considering you put oil into the but have fun.

As always ENJOY 🙂

Stainless Steel Cleaner Homemade

Let me start out by venting…again. I hate that we pay so much for these things that make our lives (better). How is it better if we are paying so much for it? I paid  4.00 a year ago for stainless steel cleaner. I hated it because it was oily, it drives me crazy but I thought this was the only option. After doing research this morning I found a cleaner that you can make yourself.

Here’s what you need.

  1. 2 tbl Baking soda
  2. 1/2 cup vinegar
  3. 2 cups warm water

I do need to warn you the vinegar and baking soda fizz. I poured the baking soda in then followed it up with the vinegar….it became active and fizzed out the sides of my funnel…i would recommend doing the water before the baking soda.

Once you get everything into the bottle shake it up and use it 🙂

Here is my horrible stove after breakfast this morning. I hate that back ruins my stove every morning but this might help considering it was cheap and not oily.

Here we are after I used the spray. You do have to use a bit more elbow grease and after you scrub it all down grab a dry cloth and wipe it down again. Here you go, this took me 10 minutes from making the solution to cleaning the stove. 🙂 ENJOY
